Mindful Movement

Blanton House 700 Blanton Avenue, Richmond, VA 23221

Experience mindfulness through gentle, intentional movement that encourages you to slow down, tune into your body, and cultivate a greater sense of ease. This class may incorporate a variety of mindful movement practices, including breath awareness, stretching, balance, mobility, relaxation, and restorative techniques. Each session is thoughtfully adapted to meet the needs of those in attendance.

Participants are invited to explore movement in ways that feel supportive and comfortable for their bodies. Movement may be practiced seated, standing, or with the support of chairs and other props, allowing each person to participate at their own pace and comfort level.

Modifications and accommodations are available throughout the class, making this experience welcoming and accessible for participants of all abilities, experience levels, and physical needs. The emphasis is not on doing the movements “correctly,” but on noticing how your body feels with kindness, curiosity, and self-compassion.

Who is this class for?
Mindful Movement is designed for adults of all abilities who are looking for a gentle, supportive way to reduce stress, improve body awareness, and reconnect with themselves through mindful movement. Whether you are new to mindfulness, returning to movement after an injury or illness, managing a chronic condition, or simply looking for a peaceful way to care for your body and mind, this class offers a welcoming space to participate at your own pace.

What to Wear
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing with an elastic waistband or other clothing that allows for easy, unrestricted movement.
